Botanical name – Ziziphus Spina-Christi,(also known as Lote tree, Christ’s Thorn, Jujube or Nabkh tree)
Taste – The distinctive flavour and fragrance are attributed to the nectar of the flowers of the Sidr tree, which has butterscotch and caramel notes and the soil the tree grows from in Yemen.
Colour – thick honey with golden light colour, darkening and turning reddish over time.
You can find Sidr trees in other parts of the world, but it is Raw Yemeni Sidr honey known to be the best (and most expensive) in the world. It is often compared to New Zealand’s Manuka honey as it too carries many medicinal and health benefits. We only work with beekeepers who do everything by hand, preserving its vital live nutrients that give us its unique flavour and retain its healing properties.
This unique raw honey is particularly good in aiding liver problems, stomach ulcers, respiratory infections, digestive problems, infected wounds, and burns. It helps strengthen the immune system and promotes general health and vitality.
Raw Sidr Do’ani is considered the most expensive honey globally, not only because of its numerous health benefits but also because of the remote area where this tree is located.
